About Micro-Alignment Therapy

What is Micro-Alignment Therapy?

The History Behind It All

Micro-Alignment Therapy is a little-known-about but incredibly powerful technique that was pioneered by renowned Canadian Chiropractor, Dr. Robert Young. And although it’s been around for more than 40 years, you won’t find it taught in any colleges. It’s so innovative that very few Chiropractors know about it. Unlike the traditional academic approach to analysis, this specific therapy’s hands-on approach is exclusively holistic. It has been created to go much deeper than the standard regional assessment to teach practitioners how to understand the global patterns of misalignment throughout the body.

Dr. Young developed the technique after using advanced technology to study the actual effects conventional Chiropractic techniques had on the human body. By using an image intensifier he found that when the vertebrae were adjusted, many levels of the spinal joints rebounded from the force applied. This, coupled with the fact Dr. Young knew many patients are resistant to see a Chiropractor because of the perceived aggressive manipulation of the spine, led him to develop a new, gentler technique that produced measurable improvements to the body. When studying the effectiveness of his Micro-Alignment Therapy under the same conditions as the conventional method, Dr. Young discovered an almost imperceptible but crucial and lasting change in the patients’ bone position.

The Power of the Whole-Body Analysis

Micro-Alignment Therapy is a whole-body Chiropractic adjustment technique specifically engineered to work on the spine, peripheral joints, (such as knees, elbows, ankles, jaw, etc.), and the cranium.

It has been found that joint misalignment can have a negative effect on almost all parts of the body and is responsible for problems such as:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Stiffness
  • An overactive or agitated nervous system
  • Poor sleep
  • Digestive issues
  • Inadequate immune system response
  • Postural stress (this includes the neck, shoulder, and arm tension, and pain and numbness due to sitting for prolonged periods)
  • Headaches
  • Athletic injuries

But, if a whole-body analysis method is employed with the Global Pattern Search system of diagnosis, a practitioner can become a master problem-solver for their patients.

Patient Benefits

Micro-Alignment Therapy is perfectly designed for patients who may not respond well to conventional treatment. Because it’s so precise and gentle, it can be used to heal patients who simply can’t tolerate the deep pressure or force applied during traditional techniques.

If you’ve ever had a patient who was suffering from a traumatic injury, had a medical condition that made it difficult for them to lie on their stomach, or simply was nervous about treatment, this therapy is the ideal alternative for them. Not only will they be able to tolerate it without discomfort, but it’s powerful enough to make real improvements to their overall health, while also helping to relieve them from their symptoms.
